A delegation of four: Maulana Shahid Raza, Sughra Ahmed, Yusuf al Khoie and Farooq Murad accepted an invitation from the archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams to present the Queen with a gift on behalf of Britain’s Muslims.
The islamic foundation organised a fundraising dinner at the waterlily Banqueting hall in London on the evening of 24 February 2012. the event was attended by a large number of guests from all across london, who had the opportunity to find out more about the activities of the foundation and its different departments.
The programme was comprised of a two-day intensive orientation seminar and one day research workshop. it was attended by academics, scholars, practitioners and students from the markfield institute and other academic institutions in the uK as well as students from Trisakti university, Jakarta, Indonesia.
In association with New Muslim Project the study carried out by Cambridge University explores Narratives of Conversion to Islam: Female Perspectives brought together more than forty female Muslim converts to discuss aspects of their conversions to Islam, to reflect on their journeys and experiences and to produce a report to inform Muslims and non-Muslims about the topic.
The seminar was organised with to promote thoughts and insights on the history/heritage and future legacy of islamic revival in the uK, as well as the wider scene of related islamic activism, in order to consider implications for the islamic foundation, its activities and projects.
